Funeral services for Hardy Franklin Dice, age 79, of Converse, Ind., president of the First Farmer's National Bank in Converse, were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec 15, in the Converse Church of Christ. Burial was in the Converse cemetery. Mr. Dice died at the bank about 2 p.m.Tuesday, Dec. 13. He had been president of the bank for several years and associated with it since 1931. Prior to that he had been with the Farmers State Bank at Veedersburg and for two years had been a bank examiner for the Indiana Banking Department. A native of Veedersburg, he was born Feb. 19, 1887, the son of Freeman and Vintentia Greenley Dice. He was graduated from Veedersburg High School and attended Purdue University two and one-half years. He was a member of the Converse Church of Christ, the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite and was a 50 year member of Bankers Club of the Indiana Banker Association. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Mrs. Onda Dice, are; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Batton of Kentland; two grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Lena Reed of Veedersburg.

Veedersburg - Hardy Franklin Dice, 79, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday at his job as cashier of the Converse Bank. He had been ill two weeks. Mr. Dice had been associated with the Farmers State Bank in Veedersburg many years. He was a 1907 graduate of Veedersburg High School and had attended Purdue University. He was born Feb. 19, 1887, near Veedersburg, a son of Freeman and Vintensia Greenley Dice. He was married to Orda Spence of Veedersburg. Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Jeanette Batton of Kentland, a sister, Mrs. Lena Reed of Veedersburg and two grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p..m. Thursday in the Christian Church at Converse. Burial will be there.
